Lampeter Permaculture Group arose from a Permaculture Design course taught in the area in 2000. Many of the participants lived locally and wanted to create a support network after the end of the course. Other people interested in sustainable living and permaculture design have joined over the years.
The group is open to people in the Lampeter area who would like to become part of a lively and supportive group of people with a common aim of living as sustainably as possible and of influencing the communities that they live in to become as sustainable as possible.
You don”t have to have attended a permaculture introductory or design course to join, or be knowledgeable about permaculture before you join. But we hope that you”ll enjoy learning with us as we practice our permaculture design skills as a group.
The core of what we do is to gather once a month on a weekend at a member’s place to help them realise part of their permaculture design. We then have a wonderful shared meal and a short, very informal meeting to help plan future meetings and our activities.
We also run several annual events in or near Lampeter – an apple day in the Autumn, a seed swap in late winter and plant stalls at some other local events. We now run some events jointly with Transition Llambed, with which we have strong links.
